Supporting every child with compassion, structure and therapeutic care – helping them grow, learn, and thrive in a nurturing home environment.
At Headstart Residential Care, our approach is rooted in understanding, empathy and evidence-based practice. We create small, therapeutic homes where children on the Autistic spectrum and those with associated complex needs can flourish. Every element of our care – from education and therapy to daily routines – is shaped around each young person’s individual journey toward stability, confidence and independence.
Every young person is unique – which is why our approach combines clinical expertise, therapeutic consistency and a genuine sense of home. These are the pillars that make our care so effective.
Each child receives an individual care and therapeutic plan designed around their strengths, needs and aspirations.
Our small, nurturing homes provide the structure and calm needed for young people to feel safe, understood and supported.
Working closely with Headstart School ensures continuity between home and education, creating joined-up support across both settings.
Every home is staffed by qualified, compassionate professionals supported by our clinical and therapeutic specialists.
From animal care at our mini-farm to creative therapies like art and music, we help children build confidence, empathy and self-esteem.
Through Positive Behaviour Support, Thrive practice and one-to-one therapy, we nurture emotional, social and practical growth toward independence.
We know that choosing the right residential care for your child is a big decision. Below are some of the questions we’re often asked about how we work and what to expect.
Every referral is carefully reviewed by our team to ensure we can meet the child’s needs appropriately. We assess their emotional, behavioural and cognitive profile and place them in a setting best suited to their level of care and support.
Therapeutic input is woven into daily life – from art and music therapy to mindfulness and one-to-one sessions. Our staff receive ongoing guidance from in-house practitioners and external therapists, ensuring care that’s consistent and responsive to each young person’s needs.
